Awesomemod should be installed in Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Packages, just like other CC. The old method can still work, for sure, but it's unreliable, and creates problems with various script mods - so it's better to do things the normal way. Pescado's Director's Cut is created by the same person as Awesomemod and has lots of bug fixes and takes away some annoyances (like making it so sims won't autonomously play kickyball indoors). It's basically a big collection of mods conveniently packaged in one download-and you can pick and choose if you don't want to include them all.
Realistic Sims 4 Mods
Awesomemod is a core mod and cannot be used with any patch level EXCEPT the one that it was made for. Currently, Awesomemod is still in the update process, so there is no version available for 1.63. You must remove Awesomemod from your mods folder and wait for the update.
Check the manual linked in the download thread daily until the mod is updated.Meanwhile, be sure to check the rest of your mods for compatibility as well. Patch 1.63 was a major patch, and a large number of mods, including tuning mods, were broken in this patch.

It has some functionality for creating random sims as well as manipulating relationships, households, aging, family, and appearance.If you want sims to do things more autonomously, get TwoJeff's ACR (autonomous casual romance). This brings some interesting romances to your town without having you control them. For example, NPC sims will flirt with each other more on community lots and can even woohoo. This doesn't run in the background like story Progression, but is pretty good if you actually go to lots and see sims besides your own household.
